VETERAN FOUNDED, GODALMING, SURREY
A little help from a gentle glow
Warm Remedy is a small candle maker run by Mike Clarke, a disabled veteran who served in the Army for almost 25 years.

HOW IT STARTED
From treatment to the workbench
During his recovery at Combat Stress, the veterans' mental health charity, aromatherapy was part of Mike's treatment programme. The calm it brought him stayed long after.

He started blending essential oils at home and pouring them into candles. Friends asked for them, then friends of friends, and Warm Remedy was born.

Every candle is still hand poured by Mike in Godalming, using 100% soy wax, 100% essential oils and a crackling double wooden wick, in a black tin you can recycle.

WHY IT MATTERS
Built around giving back
At least 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. Mike knows what support can mean. Every sale supports Legend on the Bench, Combat Stress and Veterans In Need, the resource website Mike founded in 2016. Since leaving the Army in 2003 he has raised around £30,000 for charity, including through 10 to 15km wheelchair treks.
COME AND SAY HELLO
Find us at Christmas markets
With the kind help of family and wonderful friends, Mike is able to set up at some local events and Christmas markets, including Godalming Christmas Market, where he sells a selection of the range. He also attends the Combat Stress Christmas Fair each year, with all profits from the evening going to the charity. Follow us on Facebook or Instagram for this year’s dates.
